Nightingale Dances, for Brass Band by Matthew Hall.

Commissioned by Tredegar Town Band for their 2011 Brass in Concert where it became the 2nd successive Cyril Beere award for Matthew.

A mellophone-esque opening ensemble sound of 5 flugel horns, 3 tenor horns and trombones inspired by the Manhattan Transfer version of A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square.

Moves from the opening into a quickstep, then paso-doble middle section and drives into a Hollywood-style show dance of a real thumping ending to a contest or concert performance.
