Benedictus Euph Solo with Brass Band, Karl Jenkins arr Tony Small
from The Armed Man (A Mass for Peace)
‘Benedictus’, from Sir Karl Jenkins’ work The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace, is one of the Welsh composer’s best-known works and surely one of the most beautiful pieces of choral music from the last 50 years.
The Royal Armouries commissioned Karl Jenkins to write The Armed Man (A Mass for Peace) to honour all those who gave their lives in wars, and to commemorate the end of one millennium and the beginning of another..."in music & words of great power this takes us back over the wars of the past and ends our journey with a vibrant call to a more peaceful future".
First performance was given at the Royal Albert Hall on 25th April 2000.
